Cupping – professional coffee tasting
Coffee cupping is a standardized method of evaluating and analyzing coffee. It is a process of tasting different types of coffee to compare their aromas, flavors and qualities.
This is what you can expect at our cupping:
The ground coffee beans are placed in glasses and poured with hot water (approx. 92 - 94 degrees Celsius) and left to rest for a while. Now the so-called crust is broken, the suspended particles and coffee grounds settle and you have the clearest coffee which can then be tasted. While the crust is being broken, you get very close to the coffee with your nose to absorb all the flavours. The coffee is then ‘sipped’ with a professional tasting spoon that you can take home with you.
