The Seminar will be in German.

Location | Kaffeebrewda in the Speicherstadt |
You are probably wondering what this is all about?
Erik has been roasting coffee for 15 years and gives coffee seminars in his own roastery, Kaffeebrewda, in Hamburg's beautiful Speicherstadt district. He has already been named German Vice Roasting Master twice and the coffee from Kaffeebrewda has already won several awards. Erik's passion is to pass on his knowledge to other coffee lovers. For this reason, he offers various seminars - tailored to the participants' previous knowledge and wishes.
This is what you can expect in the beginner coffee seminar:
We'll get to know each other briefly and talk about what to expect. You'll get your own space, coffee, accessories and then you can get started.
The first item on the agenda is coffee tasting. You will learn about the different aromas that coffee has to offer and how they are created. We will try different types of coffee together and look at the taste in detail. Coffee can be brewed/prepared in different ways. You will test the following methods and taste the different taste experiences of Chemex, Aeropress, French Press and hand filter. You will find out for yourself what type of coffee you are - the earthy, the chocolatey or the fruity type?
A little theory awaits you too, as you will learn the basics of coffee science: the history of coffee, the origin and cultivation of the bean, botany around the globe, harvesting, processing, trading and roasting.
Our beginner coffee seminar consists of:
Theory: Introduction to the world of coffee, history, coffee cultivation & trade, roasting
Practice: Application of alternative brewing methods such as Chemex, Hario V60, Aeropress, Syphon, French Press and Moccamaster followed by tasting
Who is the beginner coffee seminar suitable for: Anyone who loves coffee and wants to know how good and varied coffee can taste. Anyone who is interested in filter coffee and its brewing methods. No previous knowledge required.
